About
Kojothefirst(KJ.) also known as Emmanuel Dwumfour-Poku, is a Ghanaian Afro-soul/Afro-pop artist who draws inspiration from artists such as Saint Jhn, 6lack, and Kojo Antwi. He started his music career collaborating with up and coming creators before releasing his first E.P. called "People’s Man”

Growing up in Accra, Ghana, KJ. was surrounded by music, with his grandmother's gospel songs being an early influence. Drowned with doubts from those around him about pursuing music, he eventually decided to focus on medicine based on his mother's encouragement.

However, KJ. rediscovered his passion for music while studying medicine and began writing lyrics for various collaborations. After dedicating a year to perfecting his first E.P., it received positive reviews and motivated him to continue his second E.P., "Havana after Dark," which reflects the complex thoughts that occupy our minds at night, showcasing a mix of positive and negative emotions influenced by oneself and others. It represents KJ's personal growth as he comes to terms with his past, embraces his future, and finds joy in the music-making process. While "People's Man" was his first true expression as an artist, "Havana after Dark" is seen as a more authentic and significant representation of who he is as a person.
